Tribal Traps
These instincts live inside all of us, but they’re often exploited. Don’t fall for it!

- If someone thinks differently than you, it’s safe to assume they have an evil intent about everything.
- There are good guys or bad guys and winners or losers.
- Letting the other side take control is the path to catastrophe, sacrifice everything to avoid that kind of crisis.
- Be suspicious of anyone willing to compliment or compromise with the other side. They are drifting towards the enemy and wish to bring you with them.
- Clear choices and simple solutions inspire confidence.
- The only reason we ever lose is due to a lack of commitment to our core principles. Double down in the face of defeat.
- Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to voter turnout.
- If you shame the tribe for failing to meet its own ethical standards, excommunication is the only appropriate response.
- Mistakes may happen, but evil only exists on the other side.
- Even if you’re in the wrong, Never give ammunition to the enemy.
- If you discover that you are in agreement with the majority of the other side, change your view.
- You have heard that it was said, “Love your enemy and pray for them,” but I tell you, hate your enemies and make them cry, for they will someday persecute you.
